MIDI Sequencer Plugin — 2025

The "Quantized Sequencer" also called "Quan Seeq" is a 16-step MIDI sequencer built in PlugData, inspired by the flexible and unpredictable nature of modular synthesizer sequencers. It’s designed to be placed before any instrument VST, allowing users to create generative or controlled melodic patterns within any DAW on Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Nearly every parameter can be randomized, making it easy to generate evolving melodies or rhythmic variations. Each step includes a “random per cycle” function, letting parameters change on every loop, with a probability control to determine how often these changes occur. When a satisfying pattern emerges, randomness can be disabled to lock in the melody.

The sequencer also supports recording of its MIDI output, allowing the generated material to be captured and further edited.
Whether used as a melody generator or a fully generative composition tool, the Quantized Sequencer bridges the gap between structured sequencing and controlled chance.
