Uncanny Valley

Interactive Sound Installation — Summer 2025

Uncanny Valley was an interactive installation that explored the feeling of uncanniness through sound and physical interaction. A plastic head with built-in potentiometers functioned as a controller, while a metal cabinet fitted with transducers acted as the speaker body.

Developed in Max/MSP, the system shifted from a calm ambient soundscape to an evolving drone of glitchy feedback, distortion, and complex modulation, allowing participants to sculpt alien and unpredictable sonic textures.

It was exhibited at Staldgaarden, Kolding, and later at a K-Hole event at R10, Kolding.
